I've recently bought a evoIX...
and i've found that:
it has a slot for fog lights, but doesn't have it
the normal lights are a really yellow colour....looks really bad...

I was just wondering if it is just Aust's evo9 that is like that, or are the e9 in da whole world are like that??

Da stupid fing is tho...
i rang up the mitsub place here....and they said:
"cannot add fog lights"
and
"the ralliart dealer does not convert the lights to bi-xenon b/e it would lose warrenty" or something like that....

so please....if you kno anything bout the fog and bi-xenon lights (which arent aftermarket), please help....

fanx for the help...
i went to da dealer today to ask....NOTHING at all...

the service dude said they COULD do it but they reckon it too big of a job to change the halogen to xenon lights and it could stuff up other stuff.....what b*lls**t....

srsly..how hard can it be to convert it...esp for a professional mechanic....

I guess i hafta ring up the ralliart dealer down here and see if they can do it without voiding any warrenty... :(

i rang up ralliart aust and asked...
his final answer was:
"if it doesn't affected any other electric things, then it shouldn't affect warrenty"

it sounds too vague so i don't wanna risk a 5yr warrenty because of some xenons. So i'm gonna jus change the globes until the warrenty ova or i don't care about it lolz

Is your Evo Headlights meant for the RS model?
If so, just get yourself a set of the GSR headlamp assembly. They come with the Foglamp.

The US spec Evo IX MR comes stock with Xenon lights, the Evo IX and the RS do not. For the final year here, they have mixed and matched parts between the Evo IX and the Evo IX MR to create the Evo IX SE. This car also comes with HID's. All our models have fog lights though and yes they are the lights nearest the center of the car.

It would seem easy to retrofit the foglights if the housing AND the wiring harness are already configured for them. There should not be an issue of warranty. Here in the US a dealer has to prove that a modification done to a car is what caused the problem (I changed headlights and the transmission blew up is not reason to void the transmission repair).

As for the HID's, you could go through the expense of retrofitting all the factory parts which would make it hard to claim they were at fault if you did have a problem or install aftermarket HID's for much less. They are normally US $350 per bulb here in the states, I replaced both the high and low bulbs on my Hayabusa with HID's.

I know warranty claims are different all over the world. While stationed in Germany, BMW would void my warranty if I had a radio installed that was not an approved system by BMW AND not installed by a BMW dealer. Here in the states I had a system installed that I wanted at a custom audio shop and there was no questions asked when I went to warranty a seat belt tensioner.

As always, your mileage may vary.

Peace,
John

P.S. On the bright side, you have access to Ralliart parts there, the best we can get consistantly here is Ralliart fluff here (hats, sweaters, stickers, etc)
