I was enjoying my CD's on the way home from work when the display came up and said it experienced an error on disk 3. It let me eject the disk and continued playing the rest of the disks. Then an error code 3 showed up on the display. Does anyone know how to correct this. I am in the military and am stationed in germany. I not sure if they will repair this here since they don't sell the endeavor here. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hey I am stationed at Ramstein, I have an 04 XLS. Mine gives me an error once in a while (thats why I don't feel bad about changing mine), when it ejects the disk I just wait a few seconds and try to reload the disk, usually I only have to do it once but some times it takes a second try. I was told that the error means the lense is dirty but that doesn't make since because it only happens to disks in slot 4. Check out my CarDomain site, and drop me a line I am putting the Kenwood ddx7017 in the dash if you want to mod your Ende for an aftermarket deck it might be possible to do them at the same time.

Im new to this site as well to my 97 Eclipse. I just went recently to dallas yesterday to pick it up and the car is in almost mint shape. One thing that bugs me is my CD player is reading error 3. So I was wondering if it was a dirty lense how do I pull the CD player to try to clean the lense or is there an easier way to fix this because Im kinda low in the money department and the radio stations around here suck big ones. And you said something about disc's in slot 4? So this is a multiple CD player? How do i switch to another slot because it keeps being annoying everytime I turn my car on it whins like twisting its nipple or something... :liebe011: in advance..

I'm not sure about the Eclipse as far as taking it apart for a thourough cleaning, but you can always try a regular lens cleaning CD.

Its a nice idea but i doubt that would work because it will only take a disc halfway in and then ejects it before completely taking it in...Ive just been using my mp3 player with the tape adaptor to listen to my favorite songs...its just annoying because of the **** noise it makes. Oh well I may just get a new one from mitsubishi or something. Thanx anywayz, Im hoping to become pretty active on this site within the near future.

Yeah that pretty much sucks, I was doing that for a while in my VW Corrado. Just remember it's always for the best when you switch from a stock unit to a good aftermarket.
