Hi:

Does anyone know what's up with the rear wiper? It doesn't look like the blade is replaceable. It seems to be a permanent part of the car.

My rear wiper blade is worn, and I don't see any instructions in the manual for replacing it.

I've been to several auto stores, but their wiper books don't even LIST a rear wiper for the Outlander, just driver and passenger.

Has anyone replaced the blade and/or refill on the rear wiper?

Thanks.

The wiper blade just slides out. You will need to lift the blade over the lip that is about 1/4 " on either side to hold it in place. I have not had to replace mine yet, but the retail stores can be very slow with getting products in for the newer cars. I would try calling a couple different parts stores. If that doesn't pan out, you may have to break down and go to the dealer and have them get it for you.

You can usually buy a generic blade and cut it down to size. Just take your old blade into the store with you to make sure that the replacement will have a similar fit. I had the same porblem on an old Capri - my 'custom' blade worked better than the original.

Hi:

Do you mean that the BLADE (whole plastic assembly), or the REFILL (rubber), slides out?

The blade seems to be permanently attached, from what I can see.

Thanks.

To clarify, what I call the 'blade' is the rubber part you can remove. The rest of the assembly would be the 'wiper' itself. But I suppose that's all semantics :)

purchase 14 inch refills (blades). those fit fine. or as stated, cut one down to size.

So, I guess the "blade" (plastic assembly) is permanent, unlike the front wipers, and I just need to replace the "refill" rubber.

Thanks.
