you need to update your hosts file.

go to C:\windows\system32\drivers\etc

open the "hosts" file

at the end of the file, put in this line...

70.86.201.180 www.club3g.com

save the file.

now you will be able to access the site by the name and not the IP.

you can use notepad or wordpad. right click on the file and go to open. it will display a box with a list of applications to open it with. just choose notepad and it will open.

What is the difference between club3g.com and eclipseforums.org?

They both claim to be the club3g but they have two different sites and members...

If anyone knows why, it would be good to know, just for general culture...

Best regards,

Jesusdl

The .org site is ran by a guy who thinks of the forum as a business. He charges companies to advertise, and he bans anybody who speaks about the .com site. He doesn't care about the members. All he cares about is making money. He deleted the vendor group buy section b/c he didn't want any other company making money off his site. It used to be a great site. Then he started banning members who knew who he really was. Those members are the ones who started the .com site. Now the .org site is just a site that is filled with ricers who think that a throttle body spacer will give them 10whp.

The .com site is ran by two guys who could care less if they make any money. ****, they don't make any money from the site. The members donate(not mandatory) to help pay for the server costs. They do not charge companies to advertise, and they even have a group buy section just for vendors to advertise group buys for parts for the eclipse. They do not charge royalties for anything sold.

i will link a thread were alot of members from the .com site got to air out about the .org site.

http://www.club3g.com/forum/showthread.php?t=28617

Cliff notes:

Chase = owner of CMF and the guy that runs the .org site.
XIR/AMS/XERD = former owners of the .org site.
D3G Governator = Chase's AIM name

this is a perfect example...

QUOTE(PacificGlow)
LOL, nope. A while ago I asked him(chase) if I could do a group buy over there and he wanted to charge me for it so I asked strider(on club3g) if I could do one here. He said it was cool to do it for free so I started a group buy. Chase saw it and I got a message saying it was nothing personal but he just didn't think I was dedicated enough to the .org site to be a mod. So Once I get this group buy completed, I'm donating some money to club3g.com. I'm actually going to be donating about double what chase wanted to charge me.

this guy was a mod on the .org site until the owner saw that he was doing a group buy on a "rival" site. so Chase took his modding priveledges away. how stupid is that?

figured i would throw this in with my last comment. if you thought i was exaggerating when i was talking about the throttle body spacer deal with the .org site....look at this thread.

http://www.eclipseforums.org/fortopic190944.html

as you can see, all of the guys are praising this mod....until manybrews(who is very knowledgable) comes and sets the record straight.
