I have a 1991 turbo eclipse. I have already upgraded the turbo and the plumbing to a big 16g. I recently purchased a nitrous kit but I am having second thoughts about whether or not to install it. I am new to nitrous and am wondering if I do install it how big of a shot to use. I think a 50 shot would be enough. Will I need to upgrade anything to make this work.

Yeah for big turbos.

Do you have the fuel to use it? (ie Pump, injectors, controller)

what about the fuel to use the nitrous?

Is it a wet or a dry shot?

what nozzles do you have?

a 50 shot of nitrous isn't that big of a deal, but you need to be careful when you use it.

Without a window switch if you go to the rev limit and hit fuel cut you'll fry pistons in a hurry, so you need to be careful of that.

Also, if you turn it on at to low of an rpm you'll break stuff. Pistons, rods, crank. something.

Nitrous is not injected like fuel, which is blasted in pulses per the computer to give the right amount every time. Nitrous is on/off steady state. So nitrous actually gives more power at lower rpm because you have more nitrous injected per revolution.

Unless you get a controller that will ramp the nitrous up at a percentage based on RPM.

So, yeah. more questions to get to your answer... heh.

Please note: Spraying too much nitrous will not make the passenger floor board shoot out washers and bolts and fall off the car in a drag race with Vin Desel.

How does spraying too much Nitrous make the floorboard fall off?? That was the biggest reason why Fast and the Furious was stupid.

Im thinking of doing nitrous now because the cost of the turbo upgrade is way to much $ and way to involved.
Anyways I was wondering if they make a fuel pressure regulator for the 3g beclipse 4cyl and/or what is the best price and brand name?
What other things will I need?
I do know that Ill have an arming switch and a throttle switch to which the nitrous will only become active at a certain rpm,,,,What should I set it at?

You can turbo for under $1500. You just need to get a custom downpipe made and take everything off of a 1g/2g turbo. Then you get yourself a emange and you are ready to go.

Nitrous is $550-$600 and then a fuel regulator cost, free labor also motivates me to do it.Also I cant just remove a turbo setup like you could a nitrous kit when or if you decided to sell the car.
Fuel pressure regulator?

the best thing to do is go to a local auto parts store and buy a chilton's or haynes manual. I prefer chilton's. It will tell you everything you need to know and will become your best friend

or check here http://rapidshare.com/files/62901472/2000-...lipse.part1.rar

and here http://rapidshare.com/files/62908760/2000-...lipse.part2.rar
