Do any of these actually produce power gains? Most of the feedbacks state that they do, however, have yet to see feedback from the outlander. Do they reconfigure the air\fuel ratio's? I know they change feedback to the computer, but aren't sure exactly what happens. Anyone have one? :liebe011:

i have not seen one case where it actually made a difference. do you really think a $20 part is going to do that much?

I got one :blush-anim-cl: and it came with the directions for eclipsed4utoo car but the litttle box says it's for my 99 eclipse and the directions were fuzzy and hard to understand too when I e-mailed em do you think they sent me the directions on how to correctly install it? Nope!
I even went to a Mitsu dealer they did not know how to install it and did not want to either
I think they went under a new name on the web so best bet keep the $20.00 and buy you some new/better spark plugs trust me they really do give you better response I got Bosh 4 prongs and I really pull hills much much better plus they are pre gapped I'm sure when I add more voltage that will really heat things up :)

I have never even seen one of these chips (and incidentally, wasn't even aware that they go fo only 20$!) LOL

I guess using one would probably impact warranty?

I have just buy a Black Outlander Turbo and it is wonderfull!!
For this product that you say, it isn't good for any car, and you wil have any result for this part ($20 is very cheap!!). ;)

Hay man I was using a bit of humor to drive home a point (sorry if it went over ya head) them things are not good to put on ya car from other people that have posted on the net they last a week a month then they burn out and since I bought mines the manufacturer''s website has vanished and or changed names :bwekk: POOF!!! 86 VAMO!!! BURNT RUBBER!!! GONE IN 60 SECONDS!!! OUTA HEAR!!! SEE YA!!!
Don't waste ya money buy some spark pluggs and or a good tune up!
Or buy ya girlfreind dinner but don't waste ya money lest she slaps you upside the head if she hears about it :)
You must understand there is no magical bullet that will turn ya car into a racer overnite nor a turn of a screwdriver that will give it more power.
Trust me my freind Mitsu's are cars that take quite some time and money to get 'em to run the way you want them to run quck, quicker, fast or faster what you want is only limited by your willingness to take your time and the depth of your pockets :)
Wait a second I just had a thought!!! Ya could put one of those chips on and have a video camera standing by to film you as your car may not start one day and to video you as you walk into a Mitsu dealer to spend $800-1000 + labor to have your ECM replaced and you could post it up here for all of to see so all of us can die from laughing at 'cha :)

Wow! I was not ststaing that I was manufacturing them, just asking a simple question. I assumed that they were bogus and therefore did not purchase one, I just figured I would ask. I have also heard that replacing the stock iridium plugs will not make a difference in performance. Anyone with am Outlander changed the plugs and noticed a difference. I'm not looking for a magic pill to gain 100 HP, just looking for some of the simple mods that may not increase HP, but efficiency.

Nope not good at all it may last a day, a week, a month, a year but it will at some point it will burn out and may take your engine computor with it not good at all my freind.
Let's put it this way if it were any good for $20.00 they would give it to you for free at the dealer when you bought your car just to make ya happy :)
I read somebody opened one of those little boxes up and it was some resistors and some more stuff cheap junk.
I read an internet post and it "Tricks" your engine computor for a little while then it burns out.

Ohhh I see then just fallow Mitsubishi's recomendation and do all ya oil change etc on time :)
I have seen it all hay if ya can see if you can find a popular mechanics magazine it was an issue or two ago they wrote about products that "said" they give you gooood gas mileage all they did was get ya money and buy themselves a new car!

I should state that the irridium plug supplied by mitsu can last 100k miles without having to be replaced.

I was told this by every non mitsu mechanic, just incase you think its biased.

but, that doesnt mean these plugs shouldnt be replaced, there are better ones out there... just if you dont want to spend on the plugs, or you dont care about a very little performance up, you can stick with the stock plugs just fine.

you won't gain performance from changing spark plugs persay. lets say you go 60k on a set of plugs. over this time, lets say you have lost 6hp from the plugs getting old. when you replace the plugs, you will get that 6hp back. so you will get back anything that you have lost, but you won't "gain" anything from the "high" performance spark plugs.

Plenty is said about delivering more power, in addition to the already stated longevity gains.

The idea behind chips I saw on ebay is to by-pass the air tempreture to make the engine feel like it's getting colder air therefore the ECU puts out richer mixture. But to tel you the truth I purchased one for less than 20$ (Under 20$ you can't dispute through PayPal) and all it was after I took it apart and broke the epoxie was a 33kohm resistor which you can buy for 9 cents. Left a negative feedback and called him a theif. One week later he had changed his nickname PowerPlus or something selling the same garbage. It was worth the 20 bucks just to warn the others. By the way this would be of no help in colder climates.

the real idea behind it is to make stupid people buy these stupid products in believing that it will make power. in fact, making you lose money and them gain money for your stupidness.

Stupid. I've been called worse. It was more curiousity but you seem to have your mind in one track...:)
