Mitsubishi Lancer Alternator Problems?

I hear what sounds like a buzzing noise from the alternator area on my 2002 Mitsubishi Lancer with 1.8L engine,
I can't tell if its bearings, water pump, pulley or alternator( the alternator replacement is new I just replaced one week ago bought at
Because I seen no common symptoms of any problems associated with these - No overheating, coolant leaking or lights dimming or any wobbling to guide me.
Suggestions? Thanks.

How about a home made stethoscope? Just stick some soft rubber tubing a little way into your ear, and move the other end around. Admittedly this works better for air flow, eg balancing twin carburetors, but it might be worth a try.
And then there's the old way of telling if there's a train coming: use a metal rod to hear vibrations at the opposite end of the rod to your ear.
Let me know if my crazy schemes work?

PS: For safety's sake, don't stick the metal rod in your ear
