Today I got the adaptor from Mitsu (MME31490
) to have AUX in.

But in fact you don't need the adaptor, just need to know the pins.

Lower row of pins in the plug are from left to right: ground, right, left =black, red, yellow.

You can try, as ground is known. I have no pinouts. My knowledge is limited to the fitting instructions delivered with the part.

The radio even remembers "AUX"-Position after ignition off.

It might also be for the telefone adaptors, because I bought a costom solution.

Where did you get the part from? I've been trying to find this for a while but can only see it on Italian and Swiss colt accessories lists. I tried my dealer but they looked at me blankly when I suggested I wanted to connect my mp3 player. Will it work on a 2008 CZC?

If not, I'd love to wire it up manually like bogdad1 did. How do I remove the stereo to get to the back of it? I presume I need some kind of key. any help you could offer would be greatly appreciated. I'm fairly technical so happy to play with it if someone could tell me what i need.

Thanks.

You can use the special key, if you have it, or just pull out the plastic cover of the clima buttons, and then you can get a good grip of the HU and pull out too. Don't worry, you can't break anything! Next step is to insert the wires in the coupling, or open the HU metal case and solder. It' very easy!

i got it out using spoon handles and force. took a bit of trying but it came out eventually. i've hashed the wires in with a bit of selotape and a lot of hope (i couldn't find the right size crimps), but it works and sounds excellent.

why on earth didnt they just put the aux input on the front? it surely wouldn't have cost them much more to do. some cars (nissan micra) use ipod compatibility as a major selling point.

just bought and fitted the aux panel, but cant seem to get the right cable to connect my mp3 player to the aux input, bought 3.5mm (plugs into my creative jukebox) to 2rca hoping that the rca will plug into the cars 2 phono sockets but it doesnt, ne ideas on what cable i will need?
thanks

Do you know what keys will fit?

I could just be being very stupid here, but for the life of me I can't see where this plastic cover is removable. Can you give me a clue?

Cheers.

Hi,

I don't know if you can help me on this. I know this guide says european versions only but i noticed that some people from the UK have tried it so I gave it a go. I got the head unit out on my 2006 CZ1, but I do not have the 3 cables on my loom that you have connected to.
I did however try connecting 3 iso crimps into the connecter and linking them into the stereo 3.5mm lack i installed. The problem is that i get no audio out of them, and the head unit doesn't even seem to respond to the input.
Does the head unit switch to AUX manually, or do you have to select it somehow, or is this not possible on a UK CZ1, or do I have to have an adaptor loom to do this?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Just to add to this thread:

I just bought and installed the Aux In Panel. Mitsubishi must make the most generic installation guides ever, maybe because they weren't meant for the likes of me who really doesn't have a clue about his car :blush-anim-cl:

After removing the original panel (the key is to use force, but be careful at the same time) I was then tasked with the job to remove the cigarette lighter backing from the panel. Either I'm really stupid or its just impossible, I saw there was a latch which had to be depressed to take it out of the panel but for the love of me I couldn't get it out. My father came along and told me he'd have it out in a second.

So I went back to trying to figure out how to take out the radio with the Mitsubishi manual just showing a circle over the radio part. Thank you for the spoons idea, that was great! Basically (I think!) you ignore the two little slits in the console where you can buy some sort of key to remove it, jam one spoon handle into the edge of the radio, insert a little and lever it out. Repeat for the other side, you should now be able just to pull it out with very little force.

At this point my father came back looking sheepish. He'd given up on removing it and taken to it first with a hammer and chisel and then with a saw. He'd gotten rid of the panel and sawed through the cigarette backing, cutting the two metal contact points and making it unusable. :(

So I now have to locate a new cigarette lighter backing. If anyone has any idea where to get one of these, please tell me! :liebe011:

Threading the wire through the centre console was a bit iffy, I didn't know what to expect, in the end (with the radio out) I stuck my hand down and grabbed the wires. At this point I remembered I'd ignored the installation guide to disconnect the battery. Oh well, no harm done (I think...)

I didn't know how far in to push the contacts, but they don't want to go in any further without force. The contacts I got were sort of a thick bit for about 6mm, then a bit where you could see the copper parts of the wires, then onto the wire itself. I stuck the 6mm in hoping it's enough.

After putting everything back (that parts easy) I turned to the moment of truth, changed the radio into Aux mode and plugged my MP3 in. Nothing. I'm not sure if I've done something wrong (I don't think I have) or I've used the wrong cable to connect my MP3 (3.5mm to 2 RCA). Please help! The dealership I got it from didn't have a clue about the thing and didn't even know what it was, so I'm pretty sure they can't help.

Managed to fix it! :gunsmilie:

Basically the connectors weren't in far enough, they should be in completely like in the picture alx provided in the first post. If you find they're not going in past a certain point, take the plug out. Makes it much easier.

3.5mm to RCA is the correct wire that you need.

Now I just need to repair my cigarette lighter....

I wish I'd of found this site/thread sooner I'd just been bout a £170 headunit for my 05 colt so I could listen to IPOD music/Satvnav instructions in the car but I found this thread before I even opened the box and bought a £7 cable from maplin and jammed that in that back of my stereo instead.

The connector was a little different on mine but I managed to find the right pins.

10X alx :) it works perfectly, but If someone decides to do it alone, whithout original panel, would need cable lugs for the socket. I found three such an old socket. So, 10x again :)
That's my handmaded AUX :) It cost approximately 3,50 E - socket for cable lugs, kabel and two cinch.

I am going to have a go at this using a kit from Ebay
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Mitsubishi-L200-Colt...=item3a62e9cd97

and then changing the plug for a 3.5mm socket and setting that up on the surface rather than the twin phono sockets. I found the blue panel where the lighter is comes off easily, but whats behind it is pretty solid, but with a hole where the lighter wire comes through. Would I be right in thinking this is where you bring the wire from the head unit through for the Aux in rather than drilling a new hole somewhere?
