Clonking noise from front brakes.

I have lately been noticing clonking noise from my front brakes. In lower speeds and usually in start up when I hit the pedal the front brakes clonks once quite loud and then disappears for a while and comes back again.

Before I changed the brakes I also had clicking sound from the cv joint in lower speeds but the sound disappeared and the clonking took over.

You sure it is not your cv joint?

Load change - i.e. braking - and excessive play in joint will make a loud noise.

Tie rod ends, sway bar bushings/end links are worth looking over as well

Engine: WR-SRI / RRM 25% UDP / 6G75 TB

Mine at 96k is doing a bit of that and left side over hard bumps seems to bottom out, so I am think it might be the end links!
