Scott304 Whenever working with electrics, you must always disconnect the negative battery lead first, to prevent any potential damage or mishaps.

In regards to SRS airbag systems, you must also wait a few minutes for the system to discharge before disconnecting any SRS plugs.

All I can suggest is that you try disconnecting the battery for 10 minutes, then unplug the same SRS connector (usually yellow), wait 1 minute, reconnect SRS plug, then reconnect battery.

If the SRS light still remains lit, then you may have disturbed the clock spring which has caused a permanent fault code (DTC) to be stored in the SRS system.

If this is the case, then only a scan tool with SRS reset capability (most basic scan tools can only access engine functions) will be able to reset the SRS system.

Try your local specialist Auto Electrician or Dealership first, as a standard worksop is unlikely to have an SRS reset tool.

Please let us know how you rectified it.

izerous I beleive only the dealership scan tools can really do anything with the airbags.
