What I have is a 2011 mitsubishi outlander sport and has 64k on it. Today I noticed my air bag light is on when the car is off . The light is a red light blinking. I Google Drive and all I can come up is the air bag system needs to be checked . I know these cars has tendences to have twleights to go off when it needs a routine check but nothing actually wrong with it. Suggestions

to read , isolate the cause ..you .fix .....then clear air bag faults

i cant answer this one .... air bag( SRS )light is on when the car is off
the air bag light should chime for a second or two and stay off when engine started
letting the driver know the air bag system is activated
no B codes or any fault codes is good

I hope I can get some help not sure if to start a new thread of go on here, I have the airbag light on and took it to a mechanic but they are not sure what those codes are. He gave me B-1476, B-1477 and B-1B8D. Does anyone know if this is an easy and cheaper fix? I am moving next week across the country and don't want to drive without air bags. Any help appreciated.

B-1B8D will be causing your light to come on. It is referring to the wiring under your drivers seat. maybe the connector is undone, or the wiring may be broken.
The other 2 codes are referring to a flat battery you have had in the past, and will not keep the light on

Hi I must say I did not know Mitsubishi had a SRS temporary warranty! Most manufacturers are for life? What happened to Mitsubishi? I owned a 97 Mits Mirage, Brighten gold I loved it, Drove it like a stole it up too 160+ miles then it sheared the timing sprocket of crank I had no idea what to do so I scrapped it (painful decision, I could have tried to locate a new motor) that was the reason I picked up a 2014 Outlander sport es. 2.0 5 sp. Slowly fixing the glitches and there's a few. I have a pc - usb scan cable for OBD II. As well as cheap software to communicate with ECM. Will airbag sys give a code or not? with generic code reader?
