Hi,

I am new to the forum made some search and could not find the solution.

CAR: 2004 Lancer Sportback with the 2.4 liter engine
Problem: Engine Stall at Idle when engine Warm and it is Warm outside.

-No issue when it is colder or if there is no sun
-Only code is P0172 engine too rich

I have cleaned the IAC and the MAF sensor and when I run with the car I have checked the reading and they seems to work for the MAF.

I am supecting the Fuel pump for a vapor lock

Any ideas

Thanks,

/Alex

Check for any vacuum leak, if not I would replace front oxygen sensor as most common issue.
Mitsubishi description as follows, copied from one of the websites on google.

With the Air/Fuel Mixture Ratio Self-Learning Control, the actual mixture ratio can be brought closely to the theoretical mixture ratio based on the mixture ratio feedback signal from the heated oxygen sensors 1. The Engine Control Module (ECM) calculates the necessary compensation to correct the offset between the actual and the theoretical ratios.

In case the amount of the compensation value is extremely large (The actual mixture ratio is too lean.), the ECM judges the condition as the fuel injection system malfunction and light up the MIL (2 trip detection logic).
