This vehicle (recently purchased) seems to not dropdown into first upon a full stop, took in to the dealer and they could not duplicate, added 500 mls of ATF (of course they added some generic red goop and not Mitsu brand) it was low from the factory, have 10,000 kms on it. Perhaps it has the idle neutral logic feature but no on can determine if that is the case. Any thoughts?

Generic oil will kill the trans. Being a V6 i would expect it to require J3 oil. It will confirm on the label on the dipstick what it should be. If it is J3 it needs to be drained and flushed ASAP. If it is SP3, then likely red stuff might be compatible.

Without more info, it is hard to day if it has idle neutral control. Im not sure what Trans is in a Outlander Touring V6, as they stopped importing V6 here in about 2013
