Ok so,
I ordered a new alternator for my 2003 Mitsubishi Lancer. It’s a 4 door automatic.
Upon removing my old alternator I noticed that the alternator plug was melted from the inside out. So, I cut the alternator cord about 2 inches down from the plug.
I then ordered a new alternator plug that has 4 wires. It will be here November 3rd 2020.
I want to know how I should connect those 4 wires on the new plug to the 4 wires that appear to be in the alternator cord? And if I should heat shrink or just strip each individual wire and twist on each individual wire with the correct colors and then wrap in electrical tape?

Heat shrink would be the best way, but you would need to solder the wires together. Twist and wrap is an fire waiting to happen
