Back driver door panel won't come off

I have a 2099 Galant and I was trying to remove the back driver door panel off and everything comes off like usual and get all the screws removed I pop the panel away from the door but I can't get it to come up so that it will come off away from the window area.,.. like I thought just bringing the panel up would make it separate from the door but it acts like it wants to rip away from that rubber piece that is on the window (window seal). What am I doing wrong? Please help
