I got our 2009 Grandis Elegance 2.0 DI-D over 18 months ago with 40k on the clock, and it has been a lovely car to drive. Ok, not the most nimble of beasts, but superb on the motorway and handsome, too. From the off, I realised how much weight the 134bhp lump had to haul around. It's a VW engine though, so I thought of a remap. Last summer the Grandis was treated to an extra 54bhp and 72 lb/ft, courtesy of those lovely chaps at Celtic Tuning. At over 100bhp/tonnes, it felt instantly much more keen.

A year on, our black Elegance is still a svelte express. Surprisingly frugal since the remap, it just hitches up its skirt and goes. Towing is a doddle. Brakes are superb at slowing down such a mass at speed, but I have to be careful not to floor it in top on the motorway though, as all that torque might affect the clutch. No problems thus far.

Since day one I've found the rear end very soft. It hasn't worsened, just very soft. Are there any recommended remedies?
