Hi,
I have just had my timing belt and balance belt changed on my 97 galant 2.0 glsi , everything was ok until
I got about 2 miles from the garage and then the management light came on and engine started to run rough. Took it back to garage and now waiting diagnostics man to turn up and read the code. Just wondering if anyone has had same problem

Probably they knocked something loose. Hopefully not a timing issue because then the valves might have been damaged. My first suspect would be the crankshaft position sensor.

Just got car back . Engine codes show coil pack but they could not find anything wrong when they tested it. Eventually the mechanic that did the job disconnected the plug to the crank sensor , which he had to do anyway when he did the job, cleaned it with electrical cleaner pluged it back together and the problem has now gone
