Hey All,

Finally in the position to outright buy a new car, I see a fair few low K 2016/2017Lancer ES Sport & LS CF options with under 30k kms for 17k to 20k, Look like a great pickup for a reliable car but I would honestly love to make it look a bit meaner but all that’s available is evo or performance clones for evo kits.

I know up badging is generally hated on and I don’t want to pretend it’s an EVO but a real EVO is well out of my price range and I’m not performance focused right now, by the time it is in range I doubt there will be a great deal of low km options, I’d rather buy the car now and look to add some customisation over the next few years and just have a nice daily driver that I like the look of more.

Am I too in the wrong for wanting to do this or is the general consensus going to be a clown move?

If I go through with the purchase I’ll just add a nice lip, lower it, Tint it and keep it stock until for a bit and then look at the costs to install and paint a front & rear bumper is still well below any EVO.

Would love any input and thoughts or am I overthinking a bit?

I had situation like yours and have a 2013 Lancer GT model with a few EVO look alike items added. It looks kinda mean and is a daily driver. So far it's been great mechanically. No problems so far and I enjoy the automatic not having to change gears so much. It has enough power and looks for me. Good luck!
