I have had to change a coil pack on my Lancer Equippe twice inside a year and now the engine management light has come on again. The diagnostic is telling me it’s the same issue again being a misfire on cylinder 2! What could be the underlying issue that is causing this to happen every 6 months or so?

Bad spark plugs (slightly incorrect gap) among other things that would only work with a brand new coil pack would be my first guess.

You are getting a misfire code on Cylinder 2

There are several reasons that can generate a Misfire code
1) faulty coil pack
2) bad plug
3) faulty wiring to coil pack
4) dead cylinder (bad valves, rings etc)
5) faulty injector /wiring
