The oil filter for 2008 Outlander XLS is given in Japan as: MD360935 and in the USA as: MZ690072. The Denso equivalent is: p/n: 150-1010.

The USA filter in a dealership is sold at $7.81 and some Online sites offer the same MZ690072 at $5.18. The Denso filter is $4.25.

You could save a lot of money just changing the oil and filter of your Outlander yourself. Engine oil may be bought cheap from Wall-Mart and gaskets (or sealers) at $1.15 from a Mitsubishi dealer (you made buy 12 at a go).

You will not invalidate the vehicle warranty if you keep the receives of your stuff.

The old oil can be taken to any local garage for its disposal.

This is for owners of Outlander XLS (2007 or 2008). I assume that many of these owners have some old filters or new ones stored somewhere. I will appreciate it (a lot) if some of these owners could measure the outer diameter of the old or new filter and publish it here. The reason of this is that I would like to order an oil filter wrench and I need the outer diameter to order the appropriate wrench from SPX.

I expect to buy my Outlander in 3-weeks.
