Has anyone ever had a CV joint failure on an Endeavor? I've got an 04 with a front right inside CV joint that has a lot of grease covering the boot. I've got a whining/whistling noise that I thought was the propeller shaft bearings, but the more I look at that joint, the more suspicious I am. Will a bad CV make that noise as well? How big of repair am I looking at?

a CV joint will not make a whining sound. If its an 04, its no doubt a propshaft bearing, as spoken of many times on this board already.

the right inner boot has a tendency to "weep" a bit of grease due to its construction material. Its not really a problem.
if its not torn open, i would probably just clean it or leave it alone.

Many thanks, manybrews...
It just worried me because the left one looked so clean and the right one looked, well, like crap. It doesn't appear to be torn, though, so I'll leave it be.
I've got a date with my dealer next weekend to have the prop shaft looked at. Might even get it covered by warranty since it was checked out before 60K miles. I'll post my results. Thanks again.
