Hello guys ....

I want to make something different ... i have found an ecu from an 96-97 galant VR-G engine 1.8GDI 150hp and want to adapt it to my Carisma 1.8GDI.
But i have a problem .... they have different ecu conectors ... the one from the galant is MD series and the one from the carisma is MR ....

the one form the carisma looks like this :



and the one form the galant looks like this :



can i make a coversion from one to another ?? they have the same engine 4G93 GDI

In my experience car manufacturers do not make different parts for engines without a reason.
Because it costs money - they only do it if they have to.

Long story short - it will not work.

i have found that in the Carisma there were 2 types of ecus > MD XXXXXX and MR XXXXXX ... the MD one has 4 connectors and the MR has 3 connectors ....
but the problem is : can i make a adaptor harness for the galant ecu to work on my carisma ?

Okay

Think I have to elaborate.

They are different for a reason.

Even if you get an adapter and somehow it "works"

It will not work properely because the program and values are different ... if it works at all.

Bottom line - I would not even try if I were you.

You would probably have to change ALL engine electronics to make it work - MAF, temp sensor, throttle, etc.
