Gday
Ive got a 4G63 DOHC motor and im trying to get the crankshaft sprocket off...
Holy **** its the tightest bolt ive ever tried to undo
It is supposed to be around 80 ftlbs but i made tool up to lock the shaft and had a 1 metre extension bar and eventually my locking bar failed.
**** any ideas out there?????????
I am going to get a electric rattle gun and try that or a air one...
Any body tried the electric ones?
Any tips appreciated

Pneumatic impact gun is the way to go. It will come of pretty easy, unless it was ThreadLoked or crossthreaded.

Hi There;

Like you; I tried everything with no luck. I then called my local rental shop & rented a Makita 650ft/lb electric impact driver. The bolt came out with a quick push of the trigger ....... just like it was never tightened ! I couldn't believe how easy it was . The only catch is that I had to buy an adapter to use the 3/4" drive impact gun.
