RVR TDI recently low revs power started to reduce (below 2000 rpm) I diagnosed a failing turbocharger. As I would expect the engine was producing large amounts of black smoke if given full 'throttle' due to lack of air this clearing as the turbine comes to speed. Quantities of white smoke are then produced but exhaust clears as engine speed continues to rise.

I have now replaced the original turbocharger (it does show a little wear) but to my horror the symptomes remain unchanged !

The vehicle has 80,000Km on the clock, the engine starts well and sounds perfectly normal.

I am now forced to admit that I have come to the end of my knowledge, any suggestions out there please?

A workshop manual would help if available??

the fuel pump may need tunning and the white smoke is producted from water.

check the fuel filter for water, if not water then i would check the head,, i had the same prolem but i was losing water and the head had a crack in the injector thread.

fist thing return the fuel pump... and i am almost finished translating a workshop manual has been a long process,

if you need more help email me on [email protected]
