I have a Lancer Sport Estate (A wagon if you live in the Colonies)

The cooling fans run all the time the ignition is on so I'm investigating things.
The temperature sensor has been changed and this has sorted out a high idle at start up but not the fans running on so the quest continues.

There is a component bolted to the outside of the thermostat block and I have no clue what it does.
The black thing marked 150-0.5

I put a meter on it and it is open circuit, is it meant to be ?

While I had this disconnected and the sensor at the front of the engine disconnected, the dashboard temperature gauge was still working so there
is another sensor somewhere.

I could just buy a fan controller module, autodoc has a couple in stock
