Hi guys, bought a very clean 1993 Plymouth Colt Vista 1.8 about six months ago. It sat for a year before I bought it. 138k miles But engine and tranny seem solid. No oil consumption or smoke. I've replaced front calipers, fuel pump, fuel filter, catalytic converter, air filter, cap and rotor, plug wires because it would not idle smooth.
Cleaned mass airflow sensor, pvc valve and checked for vacuum leaks.
Things slowly kept getting worse and then it started developing no power at acceleration and miss firing at cruise speed above 45 mph?
I have narrowed it down to the coil and replaced that. The screws inside the distributed were stubborn so I had to remove the distributed to access the coil, replaced it.
To align the distributed, I removed plug from cylinder one, established that cylinder in his highest piston location by clicking the starter and aligned the rotor so it was on the number one cylinder. I confirmed good spark but the car would no start.
My wife cranked while I moved the distributed but nothing. So I check and now the fuel pump is not working. It is new so I confirmed that the pump was not getting any voltage.
I know you must crank the starter to get the pump to activate.
I think, while cranking the engine to align the cylinder is must have blown a fuse or relay for the fuel pump?
I have chiton, Mitsubishi forum but they don't identify a fuse location or relay location?
I'm on a do it yourself budget. Any thoughts?
